Assessment of Small Diameter Steel Pile as a Stabilizing Element for Transmission Tower Slope Stability

چکیده
Background: Stabilization of unstable slopes with relatively large reinforced concrete piles has been widely adopted over the past several decades. Small diameter steel have advantages as a slope reinforcement technique for an transmission tower where space and access restrictions that typically occur render alternate approaches unfeasible. Methods: In this study, numerical performance assessment small pile stabilizing element stability was carried out using uncoupled analysis, in which response are considered separately. Numerical evaluations presented influencing parameters could affect behavior reinforcing to increase investigated. Results: The analysis results indicate soil properties, geometry, location, diameter, length number rows combined effect on stabilize slopes. Conclusion: can satisfactorily capture some fundamental multi-row piles.

In order to study pressed pile test and ultimate bearing capacity character of large-diameter steel pipe pile, based on two high-piled wharfs of Zhanjiang Port, pressed pile test and numerical simulation of three large-diameter steel pipe piles are analyzed in this paper. Anchored pile method is used to pressed pile test, and the curves of Q-s and ultimate bearing capacity are attained. Then th...
متن کاملA Proposed Modeling Method in Finite Element Slope Stability Analysis
Limit-equilibrium method (LEM) and finite element method (FEM) with strength reduction method (SRM) techniques are the most widely used analysis tools in slope stability assessment. Recently, researchers have reported that both factor of safety (FOS) values and failure surfaces obtained from LEM and FEM are generally in good agreement, except in some particular cases. In this paper, the FOS and...
متن کاملLateral Load Tests on Small-Diameter Piles for Slope Remediation
Slope reinforcement and the use of structural pile elements can be an effective slope remediation alternative when conventional remediation practices (e.g., improved drainage) fail to consider the causal factors leading to slope instability (e.g., strength loss due to weathering). An experimental research program was aimed at developing a rapid, cost-effective, and simple remediation system tha...
متن کاملRock Slope Stability Analysis Using Discrete Element Method
Rock slope stability depends very much on the strength features of the rock and the geometrical and strength characteristics of the discontinuities (e.g., roughness, wall strength and persistence). Since a rock mass is not a continuum, its behavior is dominated by such discontinuities as faults, joints and bedding planes. Also, Rock slope instability is a major hazard for human activities and o...
